I vowed to myself I'd get more organized this year with the gardening and man do I feel like spring crept up quick! I got my seeds planted later than I wanted to, but doing my best to catch up!

Preparation done so far I've -

  • Planted my first round of seeds

  • Pruned all my hydrangeas - I have limelights I got from a local plant vendor & some pink ones I got from Costco.. but I'm not certain the Costco ones are going to come back. Shortly after planting they died very quickly along with azaleas I bought from them causing my concern for the quality of their plants. Sadly, I don't think the azaleas are going to come back. Which I'm sad because everyone in NC swore they were easy, hassle free plants! But hey - it could be me! Anyone else had issues with Costco plants?

  • Pruned the lavender - I planted a ton because I read they love sun and help with bugs, but wish I would of kept the tags of them so I could research more on specific one they are for better care. Fingers crossed they come back!

  • Started my gardening journal - I had one last year, but didn't do well keeping up with it. But this year I intend to record my seeds planted - document where I got them, what ones germinated & what ones didn't, how well they transplanted, etc. I also intend to record any new perennials I buy in the journal to reference back to as needed for care research.

  • I put some fresh dirt in the beds too!

Praying my perennials from last year come back strong! I truly have no clue what I'm doing - just winging it as I go! Any tips are always welcome!

As always - thanks for reading!

XOXOXO
