After years of being very careless with my skin care, I decided that 2020 was going to be the year that I started taking my skin care regimen seriously! šš¼ Iāve never fully done any research on products & kinda just hopped around from one drug store product to another. I found success in some products, but never found the perfect match for the real issues I have. I battle a lot of issues with red rosacea & wear heavy amounts of makeup to cover it. Iāve been wanting to pull back on the heavy coverage & work on getting my skin right so I can have days where I feel confident enough to wear hardly any makeup at all - something I hardly ever do! š³
After some advice from friends in the beauty industry & doing my own research - I decided to start with an affordable route by using Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser & Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer š¤šæ
And not to sound cliche, but from
the very first use - it felt very light & I was surprised to notice a difference right after in the redness in my skin!
After using both products for nearly two months, I do admit that I favor the foaming face wash over the moisturizer. The moisturizer didn't glide on like I hoped it would, it would peel & unless rubbed in super hard - I noticed spots on my face where it would sit on top of it. So after a month - I decided to stop using it.
In addition to the Aveeno foaming face wash, I introduced three new products into my regimen : - Hyaluronic Acid from Yeouth,
After using the Aveeno foaming face wash, I lather on the Hyaluronic Acid to help refresh, tighten & smooth my skin. Then I finish off with the mattifying moisteruizer from Shea Moisture & finally, I spray my face with the aloe rosewater to give me a dewey, fresh finish!
Okay, so I know after reading all of that you're probably like - damn she uses a lot of stuff - which I'm usually a low maintenance kinda chic when it comes to beauty - 1. because I'm cheap & 2. I'm getting lazier and lazier as I age. However, I'm starting to realize that some of the basic, lazy ways aren't going to cut it. And in all honesty - this routine takes me maybe 3-5 minutes - so nothing too crazy!
All in all - this regimen is working for me better than any others I've tried in the past. I battle constantly with rosacea, dry flaky skin and just roughness. Since putting in some effort and research, my face feels soooo much better & my make up goes on better as well! I'm by no means a beauty expert of any kind & I am not sponsored by the products I'm sharing, but thought I would share the products that have worked for me so far!
Thanks for reading,
XOXOXO
