Swimsuit Haul Try On 👙

Temps are heating up here in Michigan & my bod has never been ready for summer, but it is what it is! I admit - I'm pale, have cellulite, a spare tire belly & a lot more imperfections - but it doesn't mean I should hide my body just because I'm not a super model! To feel confident & comfortable in the skin I have this summer - I ordered some new swimsuits! I'm all about affordable & comfortable, so during the Covid lock down - I hit the internet to order some cute, budget friendly suites!

For size reference - I wear a L/XL, 12-14 & I am 5'4 weighing 180lbs. When it comes to swimsuits - I always size up to an XL/14 so it's not riding up or super tight on my belly.

I was nervous about the stomach cut on this one - the area I like to hide the most - but I was surprised to see it didn't over-reveal my least favorite body part too much! The pattern is super cute & I love the bright color! I ordered an XL!

//Gingham Love

If you know me, you know I love gingham! It's my favorite pattern - so naturally when I saw this one I had to have it! I love the flowyness - it's flattering to my tummy & adds a flirty flare! And it's super fun to pair with my watermelon sun hat & monogram earrings!

So I won't lie - I was the most excited for this one because I love baby blue! However, it ended up not being a forgiving fit on my tummy as I wanted it to be & it's high cut on the hips. Still one I'm going to wear because I don't hate it, but that's the risk you take with online ordering!

So not gonna lie - as much as I love the print on this swimsuit, the fit is just alllll wrong! 😭😫 First, I pre-ordered this swimsuit from the Draper James Lands End collaboration back in March & it didn’t come until June! I knew the pre-order might take awhile but almost 3 months?! I ordered a size 14 to be safe - I’m normally a 12, but size up on swimsuits! When I went to put it on I had to double check it was the right size because it fit SO TIGHT! And it really hugs my tummy area which is my low confidence spot 😥 I was super surprised because I always heard good things about Lands End, but this was a total miss. 😔 I love the print & I feel it’s good quality, but weird sizing & slow shipping!

Saving the best for last! This swimsuit from Target is by far my favorite swimsuit of all time! I have it in several colors & buy a different color every year! I love the design, it covers all the rights places, but still is sexy! Highly recommend!

So how to I order swimsuits online?

It has taken me some trial & errors, but I have grown comfortable ordering clothes online over the years - I know many still aren't - but you just gotta trust in the process! You will get things that don't fit & yes, you will have to return it & it can be a pain in the butt. However, the savings & cute things you find - make it worth it! Read reviews, look at other customers pictures for a body type similar to yours & when in doubt - size up! Those are my methods to success in online ordering!!

My hope is this post gave you the confidence to put on a new suite & soak up the sun or at least the confidence to give online swimsuit shopping a chance! You can shop the swimsuits featured at the link below:  https://www.liketoknow.it/mrsnorthernbelle
